All year long Michigan football fans were anxiously waiting for just one of their highly talented wide receivers to step up and make some big plays. However, for whatever reason, Michigan’s quarterback-to-wide receiver connection was completely absent.  Whether it was inexperience, poor quarterback play, poor chemistry, or a combination of all of those, there were almost no passing-game highlights.

Despite the apparent ineptitude and non-productivity through the air, there is a lot of raw talent at both the receiver and quarterback position for Michigan. Fans expected Donovan Peoples-Jones to step right in and be the Braylon Edwards/Mario Manningham that this program has been missing for years. Although he’s not quite there yet he did show some flashes of greatness. And while he was no All-American, he was able to continually get better throughout the year. Give him the time he might develop into that 5-star freak athlete that he was recruited as.

With that said, it appears DPJ is ready to take off during the bowl game. Ever since  Odell Beckham Jr. popularized the one-handed catch a few years ago on Sunday Night Football people have done their best to imitate the iconic catch. Well DPJ decided to give his own take on the one-handed catch at bowl practice today.

Wow. Whoever the quarterback is next year certainly finds comfort seeing plays like this. It appears DPJ is finally ready to break out and that’s excellent news for Michigan football fans.
