MUST SEE: Detroit Lions tricky 2-point conversion vs. Green Bay Packers

The Detroit Lions offense under Jim Caldwell and Jim Bob Cooter has been criticized for being too stale and predictable. Well, on their final score of the 2017 season, they gave Lions’ fans what they have been clamoring for all season.

Something original!

In their Week 17 game against Green Bay at Ford Field, after an Ameer Abdullah touchdown run with a little over seven minutes to go in the 4th quarter, the Lions decided to go for 2 in order to be up 24 points. That meant the Packers would have to score three touchdowns and three 2-point conversions just to tie it up.

Abdullah lined up behind Matthew Stafford with Golden Tate on the outside, then Stafford approached the line and seemed to be calling an audible to his offensive line. Then magic happened. Check it out.

Pretty sneaky, sis! And Stafford ends it with a gift for a lucky fan WAY UP in the seats.

It may be the final score for Caldwell and Cooter as members of the Lions’ coaching staff, but if it was, it is certainly a memorable way to go.

If Lions’ Jim Caldwell is fired, he’ll be missed by his players

The heavy speculation is that the Lions will be replacing head coach Jim Caldwell following Sunday’s game. While the NFL is a business and players understand that, it doesn’t mean there aren’t special bonds created between them and the coaching staff.
