Michigan Wolverines class of 2018 recruits Cameron McGrone and Aidan Hutchinson received a big boost in their ratings from 247sports after their recent Army All-American performance. Both players stood out individually and received quite a bit of praise during their week of preparation and you can be sure Jim Harbaugh likes what the two defenders bring to the table.

McGrone who plays linebacker came into the week a four-star recruit and ranked as the number 32 overall prospect nationally. After the week he had down in San Antonio earlier this month he propelled to the 24th overall ranked recruit nationally and got a five-star rating. 247sports Brandon Huffman has this insight on what he saw from McGrone play.

There are not too many linebackers nationally that move like Michigan signee Cameron McGrone nationally. He broke up some passes in coverage then came down and made plays against the run. He’s a physical defender and a complete linebacker

The 6’1″ 215lbs outside linebacker from Indianapolis, Indiana signed his letter of intent to play for Michigan on 12/20/17 and he seems to be a perfect fit for Don Brown’s defensive system.

Aidan Hutchinson, son of former Wolverine stand out Chris Hutchinson, also had a good week down in San Antonio and boosted his overall rating. Hutchinson, who was lined up against Clemson signee and five-star recruit Jackson Carman, ended up with 2.5 tackles for a loss and a pair of sacks. This performance from the 6’6″ 260lb defensive end from Dearborn, Michigan helped him jump from the 167th overall ranked prospect to 88th. The four-star recruited signed his letter of intent to play for Michigan on 12/20/17.

The Wolverines, whose defense was a strong point to their team this year, will only be getting better with these two recruits coming in competing for playing time in 2018. Michigan 2018 class currently ranks 12th nationally by 247sports.
