Among the record 13 true freshmen that played for Michigan State and Mark Dantonio in 2017 was wide receiver Hunter Rison. The Ann Arbor Skyline standout and son of former MSU and NFL wideout Andre Rison was a 4-star receiver during his prep days.
The younger Rison, however, was one of a handful or so of now-former Spartans to transfer out of the program since the season ended with a Holiday Bowl victory against Washington State back in December. But less than two weeks after the decision to leave Michigan State, he has found a new home.
Rison announced via Twitter on Saturday that he will continue his collegiate career at Kansas State.

Rison appeared in 12 of the Spartans’ 13 games played last season, hauling in a total of 19 passes for 224 yards. He also officially carried the rock three times as well. He had been committed to MSU since June of 2015 shortly after the conclusion of his sophomore year in high school. After briefly decommitting from Michigan State in November that same year, Rison re-upped with the Spartans in April of 2016.
Rison is the second primary wide receiver to announce their departure from the program. Fellow wideout Trishton Jackson made his announcement just days after Rison confirmed his decision to leave. Jackson has since then found a home, already enrolling at Syracuse University.
Both he and Rison will have to sit out the 2018 season per NCAA rules.

In total, Michigan State has seen five players transfer out of the program since the season ended on December 27 in San Diego. Among the more recent from that group was former 3-star defensive lineman Lashawn Paulino-Bell.
