Michigan and Michigan State, barring a matchup in either the Big Ten Tournament or the NCAA Tournament, will only meet once on the hardwood this season. That game took place on Jan. 13 with the Wolverines winning 82-72 in East Lansing.

In response to the big win, somebody (probably a Michigan fan), managed to vandalize MSU’s Sparty statue with a block ‘M’ and the final score of the game.

Check it out.

Though many think the Spartans have dominated the Wolverines in basketball, that is not the case. In fact, Since 2011, Michigan actually holds an 8-7 head-to-head record over the Spartans.

Michigan’s next game will be a tough one as they hit the road to take on the No. 3 ranked Purdue Boilermakers while Michigan State plays on the road against Illinois on Monday night.

WATCH: Michigan’s John Beilein mic’d up for halftime vs. MSU is perfection

It’s been over a week and fans are still talking about John Beilein and the Michigan Wolverines stunning victory over the Michigan State Spartans in East Lansing.

Now, video of Beilein firing up his players in the locker room at halftime has found its way to social media and we are all better for it! (Well, at least Michigan fans are better for it)

Since Michigan’s big victory over the Spartans, they are 2-1. The one loss was an embarrassing 20 point loss on the road to Nebraska. The Wolverines next game is against Purdue on the road. The Boilermakers are tied for 1st place in the Big Ten with the Ohio State Buckeyes and they are ranked No. 3 overall in the country. Michigan played them tough earlier this month at Crisler before losing a heartbreaker 70-69.
