It’s been a rough week for Michigan State University, as the school has come under fire for the Larry Nassar abuse scandal. Nassar, a former MSU doctor, was sentenced to 40-175 years in prison earlier today.

University president Lou Anna K. Simon recently resigned tonight, and Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo has also caught some heat for a comment he made about the situation earlier in the week.

Well, it turns out the students of Michigan State University are trying to take matters into their own hands to support Nassar’s victims.

As shown in the tweet above, the Spartans student section, also known as The Izzone, will be wearing teal to support the victims of Nassar during Friday night’s basketball game against Wisconsin. Teal is associated as a color worn to raise sexual assault awareness.

Meanwhile, investigations into Michigan State’s handling of the Nassar case by the Michigan attorney general and the NCAA have been announced.

This is certainly a classy gesture by the students at MSU, who clearly want to show their support for the victims amidst this terrible sexual abuse scandal.
