In a year where Michigan State basketball was expected to be one of the most entertaining teams in the nation, they find themselves at the center of attention for a very different reason. In the wake of the ongoing investigation of Michigan State’s entire athletic department, including their football and basketball teams, everybody seems to be chiming in. The latest being Michigan State legend Magic Johnson.

Magic Johnson sent out a series of tweets this morning pushing for the entire university to take accountability and to make things right.

With that said there have been reports that two of the most well-known coaches at MSU was aware of these events. Legendary basketball coach Tom Izzo and the highly successful football coach Mark Dantonio find themselves right in the middle of this.

Magic’s tweets appear to be calling for anyone’s job if they were to know about these incidents. However, Magic also sent out a tweet regarding his feelings towards Izzo.

Izzo and Dantonio have both denied any wrongdoings and refused to take responsibility for any of the reported issues. ESPN reported that there have been 16 MSU football players that have been involved in sexual or violent assaults against women under Dantonio.

“Every incident reported in that article was documented either by police or the Michigan State Title IX office. I’ve always worked with the proper authorities when dealing with sexual assault,”

Izzo had a similar response to questions about his handling of the situation. In an intense press conference after Michigan State’s win at Maryland on Sunday, he had this to say.
“I’ve cooperated with every investigation—every one. And I’ll continue to cooperate with every investigation—every one.”
Eventually, there will be answers and clarity to exactly what happened at Michigan State. For now, Izzo and Dantonio appear to believe that they have not done anything wrong.
