The Detroit Red Wings earned their 20th win of the season last night with a 2-1 shootout victory over the visiting San Jose Sharks at Little Caesars Arena. If you missed the shootout following 3 on 3 overtime, you missed one of the better dekes you’ll see all season as Tomas Tatar beat goaltender Martin Jones with a filthy little move.

The game was scoreless entering the third period when Detroit struck first on a Trevor Daley goal, his fourth on the season. San Jose tied it up late in the period when Kevin Labanc got one past Red Wings goalie Petr Mrzak. For the game, Detroit outshot San Jose 44-31.

Detroit edged out San Jose in the shootout period 4-3 with Justin Abdelkader getting the go-ahead goal. San Jose had one more chance to tie it up but found themselves unsuccessful which gave the Red Wings a much-needed win after losing their last two games.
