We’re just one week from Selection Sunday, and the NCAA tournament committee has just revealed its top 16 seeds during the season.
The Michigan State Spartans find themselves in the South Region as the field’s No. 11 overall seed, still needing some work to do in order to find themselves as a number one or two seed.

Committee chairman Bruce Rasmussen said during the CBS reveal show that Michigan State could potentially move up, especially if they were to play a top-ranked opponent in the Big Ten tournament.
“Michigan State has about 25 percent of their schedule remaining and they’ve got an opportunity to continue to rack up wins and in the conference tournament they have the potential to play some outstanding teams,” he said. “Michigan State’s still got a lot in front of it.”
Here’s the breakdown by region with the overall seed parenthesized:

Michigan State University has been under the microscope in the public eye since the Larry Nassar sexual abuse scandal became revealed publicly. The president and the athletic director of the school have since stepped down, and ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” then went on to drop a bombshell on the school’s athletic department, specifically target the football and men’s basketball programs.
Yesterday, Michigan State named former state governor John Engler as the school’s interim president. Many students are not happy about this, and they made their voices heard today at the school’s most recent Board of Trustees meeting. You can see parts of their protest in the video clip below, provided by the Big Ten Network on Twitter:
