Andre Drummond may not have won the skill challenge at All-Star weekend, but he did get the win in the All-Star game. Andre Drummond’s performance during the game was much more impressive than his early exit in the skills competition. Drummond ended the game with 14 points but more impressively on seven for seven shooting. That’s right Andre Drummond did not miss a shot in the All-Star game. Surprisingly Drummond only captured three rebounds to go along with his 14 points in his limited 18 minutes on the floor.
Drummond’s strong performance in the game should taste extra sweet after originally being left off the All-Star lineup. When Drummond was named as an All-Star a couple players from around the league voiced their opinions, specifically Jaylen Brown of the Celtics and Ben Simmons of Philly.

Andre Drummond was representing Team LeBron as part of a new structure to try and make the game more competitive. The experiment of switching from East vs. West to Team Lebron James vs. Team Steph Curry appeared to actually work. The players appeared to take the game a little more serious and as a result, the fans were treated to an entertaining basketball game. The game came down to the wire where LeBron hit a game-winning lay-up with ten seconds left. LeBron went on to win his third All-Star game MVP, but Pistons fans know Andre was the real MVP in the more important regular season matchup.

Now that the All-Star weekend is over, Andre Drummond will have to shift his focus towards getting the Pistons into the playoffs. The Pistons are currently a game and a half out of the coveted last spot in the playoffs. The Miami Heat currently reside in that spot at eighth in the Eastern Conference. However, it is safe to assume that Pistons fans expect to see this team in the playoffs after going out and getting Blake Griffin at the deadline.
Congrats to Andre Drummond on his All-Star game appearance, but now comes the real test.
