Now that all of the regular season games have been played, it’s time for the 2018 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament which will be held at Madison Square Garden beginning on Wednesday.

The winner of the tournament will get an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament, which will get underway with the First Four games on March 13-14 in Dayton, Ohio.

As you can see below, the Spartans will play their quarterfinal game on Friday at noon against the winner of the No. 8 seed Maryland Terrapins and the No. 9 seed Wisconsin Badgers.

The No. 5 seeded Michigan Wolverines, who won their final five games of the regular season, will open up Big Ten Tournament play on Thursday (following the conclusion of the Wisconsin/Maryland noon game) against either the No. 12 Iowa Hawkeyes or Illinois Fighting Illini, who square off on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. EST.

Here is the entire bracket.

If Michigan can take care of business against either Iowa or Illinois and then beat No. 4 seeded Nebraska in the quarterfinals and Michigan State beats either Maryland or Wisconsin, the Wolverines and Spartans would go head-to-head in the Semifinals.

On January 13, Michigan went into East Lansing and defeated Michigan State 82-72 in their only matchup of the season.

No. 2 Michigan State knocks off Wisconsin to clinch outright Big Ten title

The Michigan State Spartans went into Madison and knocked off the Wisconsin Badgers by a 68-63 final score to clinch the outright Big Ten regular season title on Sunday afternoon.

The Spartans had already clinched at least a share of the championship with an 81-61 victory over Illinois on Tuesday night in East Lansing at Breslin Center.

The conference title is the first for Michigan State in the last six years, with their last regular season crown coming back in 2012. That year, they shared the title with rivals Michigan and Ohio State. Their last outright title was nine years ago, back in 2009. That team made it to the final four in Detroit, and advanced to the National Championship game before being defeated by North Carolina.
