Some love the move and some hate the move but regardless of how you feel, Eric Ebron is no longer on the Detroit Lions roster. A week ago, news broke that the Lions had decided to part ways with the former 1st Round pick. Ebron was due $8.25 million in 2018, a price that turned out to be too high for general manager Bob Quinn’s liking.

By releasing Ebron, the Lions were left with just Michael Roberts, Hakeem Valles, and Brandon Barnes as far as tight end depth goes.

Now, according to a report from NFL Canada, the Lions have found Ebron’s replacement in former Seattle Seahawks tight end, Luke Willson.

According to NFL insider Adam Caplan, it is a 1-year deal worth $2.5 million plus incentives.

Willson, who is a 28-year-old native of Windsor, Canada, was originally drafted by the Seahawks in the 5th Round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Since then, he has played in 72 games with Seattle (37 starts), catching a total of 89 passes for 1,129 yards and 11 touchdowns. In 2017, he caught 15 passes for 153 yards and a career-high four TDs.

Eric Ebron has “nothing to say” about the Lions

Former Detroit Lions tight end Eric Ebron has found himself a new home with the Indianapolis Colts, and it sure sounds like he can’t wait to get started with his new teammates.

He signed a two-year contract with the Colts for a maximum of $15 million. Afterward, he took to Instagram to express his happiness, saying that he hadn’t “smiled like this in a long time”.

He also declined to say anything about his former teammates from Detroit.

“I’m on a totally different team and I have nothing to say about the organization,” he said during a conference call with Indianapolis reporters. “I’m really thankful for them blessing me with an opportunity to play. But I really have nothing to say about the organization.”
