Today the Detroit Lions announced the signing of former Atlanta Falcons tight end Levine Toilolo.

After the release of former first-round pick, Eric Ebron, and the signing of former Seattle Seahawk tight end Luke Wilson the Lions still were in search of another tight end. And, Toilolo is the guy they signed.

The former Standford Cardinal tight end has played 79 games in his five-year career, hauling in 122 yards last season on 12 receptions and collecting one touchdown. He was a fourth-round (133rd overall) pick of the Falcons back in 2013’s NFL draft. A welcomed sight is his 85.7% catch rate, collecting 12 receptions on 14 targets last season — considering we lived through Ebron, who had a 61.6% catch rate in 2017.

There is reason to believe that the Lions are not done in free agency and could also target a tight end through the draft. And, if we believe our goal is to do things “The Patriot” way, then a bounty of productive, well-balanced tight ends is what we’re targeting.

Eric Ebron has “nothing to say” about the Lions

Former Detroit Lions tight end Eric Ebron has found himself a new home with the Indianapolis Colts, and it sure sounds like he can’t wait to get started with his new teammates.

He signed a two-year contract with the Colts for a maximum of $15 million. Afterwards, he took to Instagram to express his happiness, saying that he hadn’t “smiled like this in a long time”.
