Things have been rather quiet lately around the Detroit Lions headquarters in Allen Park but there was a little noise on Wednesday as the team announced the signing of free agent cornerback, Raysean Pringle.

Via Detroit Lions:

The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed CB Raysean Pringle. Contract terms were not disclosed.

An undrafted rookie free agent out of Southern Utah in 2017, Pringle spent his rookie season as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Green Bay Packers practice squads.

Pringle appeared in 33 games as a running back and wide receiver during his college career at Southern Utah. The Oakland, Calif. native finished with 228 carries for 1,130 yards and 14 touchdowns, as well as 36 receptions for 329 yards.

Unless something drastic happens, there does not seem to be much of a chance that Pringle makes the Lions 53-man roster out of training camp, but he is an extra body for the time being.

Here is a clip of Pringle making an interception in The Spring League.

Detroit Lions Perfect 2018 NFL Mock Draft: This one counts!

On April 26th-28th, the Detroit Lions will participate in the 2018 NFL Draft at AT&T Stadium in Arlington Texas and after coming up short of the NFL Playoffs this past season, there is no question that general manager Bob Quinn has his work cut out for him as far as improving the roster.

Up to this point, the biggest move Quinn has made in free agency is using the franchise tag on defensive end Ezekiel Ansah. In addition, the Lions released former first-round pickEric Ebron, which came to a surprise to many. Because of that move, it seems likely that Quinn will look to the NFL Draft for Ebron’s replacement, but the question is, in what round?

There are also concerns on both the offensive and defensive line that must be addressed if the Lions want any chance of making a run in the NFC North this coming season and those areas MUST be addressed in the early rounds.

I have been very vocal about my belief the Lions DO NOT have to draft a running back in the early rounds or even at all. Ameer AbdullahTheo Riddick, and newly acquired LeGarrette Blount are good enough to get the job done IF and only IF Quinn can solidify the offensive line.
