The first report came from Evan Petzold of CM Life, the student newspaper for Central Michigan.
“The Central Michigan football team has added Deron Irving-Bey as a transfer from the University of Michigan,” the article reads. “Irving-Bey, who is already on campus at CMU, will not be able to play in the 2018 season due to transfer rules. He will start playing for the Chippewas in 2019 with three years of eligibility remaining.”
Irving-Bey, who was a four-star recruit coming out of high school, was redshirted during his freshman season with the Wolverines.
