LOOK: Detroit Lions don’t play until Monday but they still won on Sunday

The Detroit Lions open up their 2018 campaign on Monday Night Football against the New York Jets, which means they had Sunday off while most of the rest of the league played.

Hopefully, the Lions pick up a victory over the Jets to go along with a few lucky breaks they caught on Sunday.

The Lions will travel to San Francisco for their Week 2 matchup against the 49ers, who may or may not be without Marquise Goodwin, who left today’s game against the Vikings with a quadriceps contusion.

Another future opponent of the Lions, the Dallas Cowboys, looked awful on offense today against the Carolina Panthers. The Cowboys only managed 232 total yards and 8 points in their 16-8 loss on the road.

In addition, two other future opponents of the Lions suffered injuries. Running back Jeremy Hill (knee) of the Patriots and Greg Olsen (foot) of the Panthers also left with injuries.

Though we definitely never wish for an opponent to get injured, these could end up benefiting the Lions in the not too distant future.

Dear Detroit Tigers: Please make this one jersey change for 2019

Dear Detroit Tigers,

Heading into the 2018 season, us fans knew it was highly unlikely that we would see a winning team. In fact, many of us wondered if we would lead the league in losses. But regardless of what was about to happen,  whether you won or lost, we supported you. Sure, it was tough to make it out to as many games as usual, but trust me when I say that we had your back from afar.

Looking forward to 2019, all signs point to another long season, at least in terms of wins and losses, but that is expected in a rebuild. We know there is a process to get back to a championship-caliber team and we are willing to be patient now because we believe there will be amazing celebrations down the road.

Though we promise to be patient when it comes to the product on the field, we have one request that would instantly make the 2019 season and beyond a little better.
