The Detroit Lions got off to a hot start defensively on Monday Night Football when Quandre Diggs took a Sam Darnold pass back to the house.
Unfortunately, everything was not good for the Lions in the first quarter as Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay left the game with an injury.

UPDATE: Slay was evaluated for a concussion and cleared to return to the game, which he has. Whew!

Over the course of 13 seasons, Justin Verlander gave his all each and every time he took the mound with the hopes of leading the Detroit Tigers to a World Series championship. Unfortunately, he and his Tigers’ teammates were not quite able to get the job done and Verlander was eventually traded to the Houston Astros.
Now, JV is coming home.
On Monday night, Verlander will take the mound at Comerica Park dressed as the enemy with the goal of shutting down many of his former teammates.
But before the moment of truth comes, Verlander has a message for Tigers’ fans.
