On August 16, the world came on its knees after legendary singer Aretha Franklin, aged 76, passed away. Franklin was popularly known as Queen of Soul. Some of her legendary hits such as “Chain of Fools” and “Respect” are what we are left with as we remember her.

The Legacy of Aretha Franklin – A Story to Know
There are many artists who have mesmerized us with their talent. Aretha Franklin was one of the few who did a lot more than just reintroduce what we know about Rock and Roll music.
Franklin has left a lasting legacy which includes 18 Grammy awards and sold over 75 million records across the globe. She is remembered as the first woman to ever be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. She was also inducted in the Gospel Hall of Fame.
The Detroit Tigers are among the many sports teams who have been honoring Franklin. During Thursday’s game, against the Twins, the Detroit Tigers made a nice tribute.

The Tigers opened a four-game set against the Twins with Franklin’s popular hit, “Respect’.
The head of PR which is headed by Chas Crunk made some little notes that were marked by Franklin’s hits. Some of the notable hits include ‘It hurts like Hell, Dr. FeelGood, Respect Until you come back to me and Rock Steady.
They did this in line with their titles as a dedication to the team. They recognized accomplishments of people such as their manager Ron Gardenhire, Nicholas Castellanos, Victor Martinez, and Daniel Norris.
Although the team did not directly mention Franklin, it was notable to mention that all that was for her.
The Video In Tribute to Aretha Franklin
The Twins were not left behind. They played a video tribute to her before the game.
The Detroit Lions honored the legend during their preseason opener against the New York Giants.
The crowd was asked for a moment of silence at the Ford Field. The cheerleaders first performance was Franklin’s hit song “Think”. The Lions hold a special place for Aretha after she sang a memorable rendition of the national anthem during Thanksgiving in 2016. She sang for five minutes at the Ford Field when the Lions were facing the Minnesota Vikings.

Franklin also performed for the Piston’s during Game 5 in Detroit when they faced off the Lakers. It is believed that her voice is what propelled the Pistons to win the NBA finals in 2004.
