Watching the Detroit Lions get pummeled by the New York Jets on Monday Night Football was absolutely painful for the fans. The Jets dominated every aspect of the game on way to a 48-17 win, something that almost nobody expected.
But speaking of “expecting” things, multiple players from the Jets told media members after the game that they knew exactly what Matthew Stafford and the offense was trying to do.

“We were calling out their plays as he was getting up to the line,” linebacker Darron Lee said of quarterback Matthew Stafford, who was intercepted four times in the Detroit Lions’ 48-17 loss at Ford Field.
“We knew his signals,” Lee said. “We knew everything. That’s just preparation as a defense. … It seemed like we were in his head as a defense.”

For those of us who watched the game, whether at Ford Field or on our television, this was not much of a surprise.
During a conference call on Tuesday, Patricia talked about the Jets defense knowing which plays were coming.
“pretty common when you’re facing an opponent you have familiarity with.” Said, Patricia.

If that is the case, shouldn’t the Lions have had the advantage considering Patricia faced the Jets twice a season when he was with the New England Patriots?

I have been watching Detroit Lions football for a long, long time. I’ve been disappointed time and time again over the years but never have I been as disappointed as I was on Monday night as I watched my favorite team lay an egg on national television.
My hope was to make it out to the game but due to my wife having a “Bunco night” with her friends (which I am fine with, she deserves it), my only option was to watch the game on my television.
While watching the game unfold, I could hear the boos from the Ford Field crowd loud and clear and I thought to myself how glad I was that I did not drop a bunch of cash on such a sorry excuse for a football team. Had I went to the game, I would have refrained from booing my team because that is not my style, but I would not have looked down on anyone who did.
Detroit News writer Mitch Albom has a much different view on the fans booing than I do, which he is entitled to.
