LOOK: Detroit Lions work out quintet of players

According to NFL insider Adam Caplan, the Detroit Lions have worked out five players including DE/OLB David Bass, FBs Aaron Ripkowski, Jay Prosch, and Jalston Fowler, and DE/OLB John Simon.

NOTE: It’s Aaron Ripkowski, not Alan

Bass was originally a 7th-round draft pick of the Oakland Raiders in 2013. In his career, Bass has played in 64 games (11 starts) and has a total of 64 tackles and nine sacks.

Simon is a defensive end/linebacker who was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the 4th-round of the 2013 NFL Draft. In his career, Simon has played in 54 games (22 starts), registering 106 tackles and 13 sacks.

Ripkowski was a 6th-round selection of the Green Bay Packers in 2016. Since then, he has played in 47 of a possible 48 regular season games (10 starts). During that time, he had 39 carries for 163 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Fowler was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the 4th-round of the 2015 draft. In three seasons in Tennessee, he has played in 42 games (8 starts), recording 10 carries for 20 yards and two touchdowns.

Prosch was a 6th-round selection of the Houston Texans back in 2014. In 63 career games (13 starts), he has 10 carries for 42 yards.

LISTEN: Mike Valenti absolutely buries the Detroit Lions

Currently sitting at 0-2 to start the young season, the Detroit Lions playoff chances all but officially evaporated Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers in a 30-27 loss. Of course, with it being a particularly frustrating setback given that the team fell behind by a 30-13 score before attempting a comeback, you just knew the team would earn the wrath of the most opinionated sports talk host in Detroit.

97.1 The Ticket’s Mike Valenti absolutely ripped into the Lions on Monday afternoon, comparing every Monday show following a Lions game to the classic film “Groundhog Day” in that it’s the same routine over and over again. He also urged Lions fans to stop wasting their time with the team, because nothing ever changes.
