On Sunday, during the Detroit Lions 26-24 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, wide receiver Golden Tate was clearly one of the best players on the field. Not only did Tate have eight grabs for a team-high 132 yards, but he also scored two touchdowns.
The first of Tate’s two TDs came in the first quarter with the Lions trailing 3-0. As you can see, he makes the Dallas defenders look silly and then disrespects them as he walks into the end zone.

Tate’s second touchdown came late in the fourth quarter with the Lions trailing 23-17. Take a look as he once again decides to showboat a bit before he gets to the end zone.

Following the game, Tate was asked about his showboating antics and he admitted that he has to make some changes moving forward, including putting the team first.
“I gotta fix it. At the end of the day, I’m having fun, but I got to put the team first. If I fumble that ball and it goes out the back of the EZ, or something happens and the ball goes out of bounds and we don’t score, then I feel like a douche bag.”

Tate is 100% on the money. If he were to have fumbled the ball in a situation like that of his second TD on Sunday, he would not only look like a DB, he would immediately be vilified in Detroit.
Learn from your mistakes and move forward.
