On his first carry of Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions rookie Kerryon Johnson ran for 32 yards. Following that, he had just nine more touches for the remainder of the game.

Instead of Johnson carrying the workload, the Lions coaching staff decided to give LeGarrette Blount almost an equal part of the job. On seven carries, Blount rushed for a grand total of 12 yards and he did not look good doing so.
When asked about why Johnson was not getting more touches, Lions’ head coach Matt Patricia gave what can only be called a “sorry” excuse.
From LionsWire:
“Again, start, not start depends on personnel groups, who’s in the game, things like that,” Patricia responded. “It doesn’t matter who’s in the game, whoever’s not in the game.”
Wait, what?!?!
Are you serious with that load of crap response? What in the hell is Patricia even trying to say? It does not matter who’s in the game? I seriously spit my soup out when I read that!!!
Ok, Matt, let me help you out with something…
KERRYON JOHNSON IS BY FAR THE BEST RUNNING BACK ON YOUR ROSTER! GIVE HIM THE BALL!
Now I have to finish cleaning up beef barley soup off of my desk!

Detroit Red Wings will look much younger come Opening Night
The jokes about the median age of the roster of the Detroit Red Wings may soon come to a screeching halt, if the players waived, sent down, and released are any indicators.
We could see up to five new players make their NHL debuts on Thursday night when the Red Wings take on the Columbus Blue Jackets in the season opener. The defense, thanks to multiple injuries, is a much bigger question mark, but coach Jeff Blashill has stated that forwards Michael Rasmussen and Christoffer Ehn will make their debuts for sure. Defenseman Dennis Cholowski is also slated to dress for the game.
On the back end, Mike Green (virus) will still not be ready to play, and there’s no current timetable on his return.
