This coming Saturday, Michigan will hold their annual homecoming game at the Big House. Coming to town is a Maryland team that is off to a 3-1 start, including a win over Texas in their season opener.
On Tuesday, Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh announced a position change for true freshman, Michael Barrett. Barrett, who began the season as a linebacker, will now be playing wide receiver for Michigan.

While in high school, Barrett played quarterback, which is one reason why the Wolverines position coach Al Washington believes he is capable of playing other positions.
“Quarterbacks, a lot of times, the kids from high school who were quarterbacks, they’ve got a good understanding of football,” Washington said at the time. “So that position he plays, it’s kind of like, in some regard, you’re quarterback of the defense. You’re kind of involved from the back end to the front end. So I think he understands the concepts, it’s just now a memorization and just getting comfortable with different situation guys get in.”
So far, during his freshman season, Barrett has appeared in just one game (on special teams) for the Wolverines.

Dear T.J. Lang: We understand if you hang up your cleats and leave the Detroit Lions
Dear T.J. Lang,
On Sunday, against the Dallas Cowboys, on what seemed like any normal NFL play, you were part of a collision that caused you, a strong professional athlete, to drop to your knees in pain. At first, there was speculation that it could be your back flaring up again but we later learned it was a “brain-injury” and you were being placed in concussion protocol.
Unfortunately, this is not your first go-around with injuries to your brain. In fact, according to you, this is at least the fifth “brain injury” you have suffered and you have always come back as soon as you could to help your teammates on the field.
