College football has come a long way from its humble beginnings to becoming the testing
ground for NFL selection. Whether it is the scouts or punters, both are always eagerly
watching the various players that start their careers in college to later on become legends of
the game.
For anyone interested in Michigan college football betting the first thing they need to know is
that the state has two leading teams in Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans.
Both have been strong contenders with players that have proven their importance in the
sport over time.
Michigan Wolverines
Representing the University of Michigan, Ann Arbour the Wolverines is a Division 1 team in the NCAA. coached by Jim Harbaugh, who joined three years ago, the team hasn’t lately performed to the level that fans would expect it to. However, with a strong defense, they have been placed at +1400 odds to win the National Title and +600 odds for the Big Ten conference. Moreover, they have a daunting task this year as they come face to face with really tough teams in the competition including their age-old rivals Michigan State in October.
What’s interesting to see is that even with an initial loss against Notre Dame, the Wolverines
have come out strong and won their next three games. They devasted the Western Michigan
Broncos and recently went all guns blazing after the Cornhuskers. What was interesting
about the game, besides the win for Michigan, was its fans.
Whether it was the supporters in the stands who cheered the team to a comfortable victory
or an unusual online fan in Wendy’s who trolled Nebraska Cornhuskers as Michigan
defeated the team 56-10, there was a lot of excitement and fun surrounding the game. With
so much energy and big victories, punters need to stay focused on analyzing the team as
they move forward hereon. If they continue in this manner, they are most likely going to be
the frontrunners in the end.
Michigan State Spartans
As the name suggests, the Spartans represent Michigan State University’s football program in Division 1 of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. From a punter’s point of view, the team has some difficult games this year that they will have to withstand, but a 9- or 10-win season is entirely possible. By winning two of the initial three games, the Spartans are off to a good start, and fans and football enthusiasts appreciated their nail-biting loss to Arizona State. Unfortunately, it was during this game that Jake Hartbarger suffered a leg injury that will have him off the field for 6-8 weeks. But, when it comes to the Playoff Championship, they are listed at +3300 odds to win and are fifth in line for the Big Ten title at
+700 odds.
For any new bettor, one must always remember that Michigan State is quite the exceptional
team. It might have struggled in the recent past but still holds a legendary status in the game
of football. In fact, their 1966 play with rivals Notre Dame is considered the “game of the
century” for being one of the most controversial football games ever played. Presently,
coached by Mark Dantonio under whom the team has won three Big Ten conferences,
Michigan State is a solid team that needs a little push to make a significant difference.
