Fresh face at Red Wings practice, veteran defenseman could debut Friday

Some good news came out of the Detroit Red Wings’ practice Thursday morning. Some roster moves, shake-ups, and fresh faces on the ice. All these factors could prove for a better outing on Friday night for Detroit.

Firstly, it was announced that Christoffer Ehn was reassigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins. In nine games with the Red Wings, he’s posted one assist and a plus-minus of plus-2.

The move was done to make roster space for newcomer Jacob de la Rose. He was picked up on waivers by Detroit last week. Now coming off of injured reserve, he seems to be ready to make his Red Wings debut Friday night. In 119 games played over four seasons with the Montreal Canadiens, de la Rose has notched eight goals among 19 points, including two shorthanded goals.

On the back end, it seems that Mike Green could finally be ready to make his season debut. He’s been battling a virus in his liver since preseason, but has been on the mend for a few weeks now. He practiced with the team Thursday morning, and looks to be game-ready. He’s stated that he anticipates playing on Friday.

In addition, Danny DeKeyser says he could play as early as Sunday. He’s been out of the lineup with the same hand issues that plagued him in preseason.

The Red Wings are back in action Friday night when they take on the Winnipeg Jets. (7:30pm ET)

Struggling Red Wings cause new threshold for Arby’s to make it rain curly fries

Who doesn’t like curly fries? I mean, they’re not all that different from regular fries. Still potato-y and everything. But there’s just something about their pigtail-shaped cousins that makes them more appealing. Detroit Red Wings fans could potentially be getting a lot of more them, if Arby’s new promotional threshold has anything to say about it.
