Detroit Lions Week 8 Injury Update: Matthew Stafford

On Sunday, the Detroit Lions were beaten all over the field as the Seattle Seahawks came to Ford Field and dominated from start to finish. When all was said and done, the Seahawks walked away with a 28-14 win to move to 4-3 on the season.

The Lions, on the other hand, dropped to 3-4 with a tough divisional matchup against the Minnesota Vikings coming up in Week 9.

DETROIT LIONS VS. MINNESOTA VIKINGS POINT SPREAD REVEALED

During the loss to the Seahawks, Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford managed to bang up both of his hands. Following the game, Stafford was asked about his hands and he said he was fine.

From MLive:

“I’m OK,” the Lions quarterback said. “Yeah, I’ll be all right.”

Both injuries (if you want to call them that), came in the fourth quarter as Stafford was trying to lead the Lions to a comeback victory. Unfortunately, he ended up turning the ball over to the Seahawks twice, fumbling once and then throwing an interception on the Seahawks 1 yard line, essentially sealing the deal for Seattle.

MUST SEE: Autistic Special Olympian scores final touchdown for high school football team

Let’s admit it, sometimes we get just a bit too fired up about what happens on the athletic field. Sure, there are highs and lows and it’s natural to feel excitement and disappointment during those times, but when all is said and done, does it really matter?

Well, what happened on Thursday night during a high school football game in Las Vegas absolutely matters. In fact, it matters a lot.

During Bonanza High School’s final game of the season, something happened that showed everything that is right about high school athletics. With Bonanza trailing Faith Lutheran 41-6 in the fourth quarter, senior Richard Curry entered at running back for what would end up being the final play of the game.

What makes this truly special is that Curry, who is an autistic Special Olympian, has been the football manager at Bonanza for the past three seasons and he had never played a single snap in a high school game.
