JUST IN: Detroit Lions waive cornerback who nobody really knew

On Sunday, the Detroit Lions went into Soldier Field with the hopes of shocking the NFC North division-leading Chicago Bears. Instead, the Lions were embarrassed early and often on their way to a (closer than the score indicated) 34-22 loss.

A day later, somebody had to take the fall!

According to the Lions, they have waived Lenzy Pipkins, a cornerback who nobody really knew.

In two games for the Lions this season, Pipkins has just one tackle. Though he was was on the active roster for the past three games, he did not play a single defensive snap.

Of course, we were just kidding around with the “somebody had to take the fall” comment, Pipkins was waived so the Lions could sign another player. That player has not yet been announced.
