BREAKING: 4-Star DB Jalen Perry commits to Michigan

It’s official: 4-star defensive back Jalen Perry has committed to the University of Michigan. Perry took to Twitter today to announce that he was joining the Wolverines after returning to Ann Arbor for his second visit this weekend.

Jalen Perry tweeted out the following statement:

“I want to thank God for the opportunities that he has blessed me with. I would like to thank my family, friends, teammates, and coaches that have had an impact on my life and helped me become the player that I am today. I also thank all of the coaches that have given me an opportunity to play for their school. After lots of prayer and conversations with my family I have made my decision. I will continue my academic and football career at the University of Michigan #GoBlue”

Perry was originally committed to the University of Georgia, however, he de-committed from the Bulldogs back on October 4th. The 6-foot-1, 188-pound defensive back turned down offers from multiple other schools including South Carolina and Florida. Perry is from Dacula, Georgia and is ranked No. 171 in the nation, No. 19 at cornerback, and No. 22 in Georgia, according to 247Sports Composite.

Perry is the 26th member of Michigan’s 2019 class, which includes five-star safety Daxton Hill, three-star cornerback DJ Turner II, three-star safety Quinten Johnson, three-star cornerback Mike Sainristil, and three-star safety Joey Velazuez.

It’ll be interesting to see how defensive coordinator Don Brown is able to utilize all this incoming young talent within Michigan’s secondary, which is already one of the best in the country.
