Another break falls the Detroit Lions’ way this afternoon. Adam Schefter reports that Mitchell Trubisky, “woke up sore and with less movement in his shoulder.”
Mitchell Trubisky woke up sore today and with less movement in his shoulder than expected, making it likely Chase Daniel will start Thanksgiving Day vs Lions, per source. Bears could activate QB Tyler Bray today to backup Daniel, with possibility that Trubisky now will not dress.

The Bears have been prepping for Chase Daniel to start all week, and on this very short week for the Bears it looks like Daniel will get the start. According to Pro Football Reference, Daniel has seen seven total snaps this year across three games. A career backup in the NFL since 2010, the former Missouri Tiger will certainly lean on the ground game with standout Tarik Cohen and power back Jordan Howard.

Coming off a week that saw the Lions leading rusher Kerryon Johnson go down, the Lions will take any break they can get going in to the annual Thanksgiving Day game.

Detroit Lions could catch Thanksgiving Day blessing
On Thursday, the Detroit Lions will host the Chicago Bears in their annual Thanksgiving Day game at Ford Field.
As it stands, the Lions are 4-6 and on the outside looking in as far as the NFC Playoff picture goes following their 20-19 win over the Carolina Panthers this past Sunday. The Bears, on the other hand, are 7-3 and sit in first place in the NFC North following a big victory over the Minnesota Vikings.
You don’t have to have a great memory to recall the last time the Lions played the Bears as they just met on Nov. 11 at Soldier Field in Chicago. On that day, Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky completed 23 of 30 passes for 355 yards and three touchdowns as Chicago cruised to a 34-22 win over the Lions.
But, according to reports, there is a chance that Trubisky will not be able to play on Thanksgiving as he banged up his shoulder on Sunday against the Vikings.
