The Detroit Lions had a rough day with injuries on Sunday losing playing time from eight different players at some point during the game. One of those players was rookie defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand. His injury prognosis doesn’t appear to be season-ending, but the jury is out on how many weeks this could take from his season.

A grade 2 MCL sprain is much better than it could have been, however still disappointing news for a player that has shown tremendous growth over his first 12 games.
The controversy on this game was the field conditions. Lions players were very upset with the apparently trashed natural grass surface that caused the majority of players to have to change their footwear after the first quarter of the game. Several ankle and knee injuries highlighted this issue. Lions’ defensive lineman Ricky Jean Francois had some harsh words in a post-game interview.
“They got to get on that field cause that field is so high tech, taking it outside, watering it, doing everything to it, damn near gardening it, and then we come to an NFL game and we’re tearing it up that easy,” defensive lineman Ricky Jean Francois said. “You pay too much money for a stadium like this to have grass that bad. I’m just saying, if you’re going to spend billions you might as well cover everything.”
Maybe Patricia’s snow practices did have a purpose?

Detroit Lions’ Damon ‘Snacks’ Harrison has message for fan rooting for team to ‘tank’
It happens in just about every sport. When it becomes obvious that a team has little to no shot at competing for a championship, or even making the playoffs, some “fans” begin rooting for their team to lose.
Now, I would argue that people who choose to go that route and actively root for their team to tank are losers themselves, but that is a topic for another day.
Following the Detroit Lions 17-3 win over the Arizona Cardinals, Lions defensive tackle Damon Harrison tweeted out a message to a fan who is upset about the outcome of Sunday’s game.
