Young was listed as a hard commit for the Spartans but ultimately decided to join his brother Avery at Rutgers. Young is a 3-star prospect from Coatesville, PA and ranked as the No. 605 recruit in the nation, the No. 38 running back, and No. 12 prospect in the state of Pennsylvania according to 247 Sports.
The Spartans have been having a lot of success during the early signing period, and have already signed two 3-star running backs in Brandon Wright and Anthony Williams Jr.

The early signing day 2019 started off with a bang for head coach Mark Dantonio and the Michigan State football program.
20 recruits signed their letters of intent to join the Spartans, including top recruits Devontae Dobbs, the number one ranked incoming guard in the nation, and Julian Barnett, the number eight ranked corner. Dobbs is the fourth highest rated recruit in Michigan State football history and Barnett is the 15th.
