When Michigan played Ohio State this season, many thought the Wolverines would finally get the job done, move on to the Big Ten Championship, and eventually compete in the College Football Playoff.

Unfortunately for the Wolverines and their fan base, the Buckeyes absolutely annihilated Michigan to the tune of 62-39.
The Buckeyes went on to destroy Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship game and they will now square off against Washington in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day.
Following the Big Ten Championship game, Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer announced he was leaving the Buckeyes following the conclusion of the Rose Bowl.
Now Meyer has come out and said that if the Buckeyes had not beaten the Wolverines, it would have been hard for him to leave.

“I looked up at the scoreboard when we beat the team up north and the way we beat them, and to be honest with you, if we didn’t win that game I’m not sure I could leave losing that game,” Meyer told 10TV in Columbus on Thursday. “When our team played the way we did, and I knew Coach (Ryan) Day was right there, I’m so confident in what he’s going to do here.
“I guess leaving on your own terms is unique.”
Meyer shared an emotional moment with his wife, Shelley, on the field after the game. He said he already knew he had likely his coached his final game at Ohio Stadium.
“Shelly is ‘It’ for me. She’s ‘It.’ She lives and dies this job with me, my children live and die every snap, every game. And it hasn’t been just this year, it’s been for 33 years. I know how much that win meant to her and it meant to me. Forever now we are a part of that 7-0 run against the team up north,” Meyer said.
