The Detroit Tigers announced today they’ll begin using mobile-only ticket entry at Comerica Park for the 2019 season.

Why the change? Well according to the Tigers mobile tickets are the safest and most convenient way to receive and manage tickets. The decision also follows the successful use of mobile tickets at Little Caesars Arena for Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons games.
Tigers fans will be able to enter Comerica Park by showing their tickets on either the Major League Baseball Ballpark App or the StubHub App. Both apps are available for download through the iTunes App Store and Google Play Store.
Mobile ticketing via these two apps will allow fans to use their mobile device as a game ticket. Fans will be provided access to Comerica Park through a barcode that can be scanned from a device’s screen.
The switch to mobile-only entry also reduces the chance of fraudulent tickets, allows for convenient online transfer and resale of tickets, and provides a user-friendly platform for the online management of tickets.
If you don’t have access to a smartphone, fans are asked to call the Comerica Park Box Office at 313-741-2200 in advance or visit the box office on game day to get your tickets. Tickets in the Ballpark app will have a rectangle barcode with regular ticket information on them, including section, row, seat number, game date, time, and opponent. One exception to this policy is for group purchases, which will continue to be printed by the club.
According to the team, screenshots of the tickets will not be accepted, and you can only access them from either the Ballpark or StubHub app. All PDF tickets, either printed or copied on a mobile phone, will no longer be accepted as a method of entry for Detroit Tigers games at Comerica Park.
The first event to use mobile-only ticket entry at the ballpark is TigerFest, which will be held at Comerica Park on Saturday, January 26.
