Michigan football’s head coach Jim Harbaugh teased that the spring game will be held on Saturday, April 13th at 5 pm in a tweet for an upcoming episode of his Harbaugh’s Attack Every Day Podcast.

The tweet also mentions an interview with new quarterbacks coach Ben McDaniels, which was included in today’s episode. There is also a fanfest/workout/practice scheduled for a week earlier, Saturday, April 6, in Ann Arbor.
This will be the Wolverines’ first spring game since 2017. Michigan’s spring game last year was canceled due to weather concerns.
Michigan is coming off a 10-3 season that saw the team come one game away from reaching the Big Ten title game, only to lose, again, to Urban Meyer and Ohio State. The disappointing end to the season continued with a blowout 41 – 15 loss to Florida in the Peach Bowl.
The spring game and fanfest will provide us with our first glimpse of Michigan’s revamped offense under new offensive coordinator Josh Gattis.

Pat Perles joins Michigan football as analyst
Pat Perles, the son of former Michigan State head coach George Perles, will be joining the Michigan Wolverines as an analyst/assistant offensive line coach according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

At 55 years old, Pat Perles has experience coaching and scouting at both the college and NFL level. His last known coaching gig was in 2013 when Perles was the offensive line coach at Syracuse. Prior to that, Perles has had multiple stops in his coaching career including North Dakota State (2003-08), Michigan State (2000-02), and Toledo (1989-91).
In the NFL, he’s coached with the Kansas City Chiefs (2011-13) and Los Angeles Rams(1992-93). In 2014, Perles was hired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a player-personnel scout.
Pat Perles also coached a few seasons in the CFL.
Head coach Jim Harbaugh has been beefing up his staff with experienced coached in recent weeks. In addition to Pat Perles, the Wolverines also brought in former Georgia Tech defensive coordinator Nate Woody as an analyst. Analysts are not considered an official member of the coaching staff, cannot work with players on the field during practices or games, or take part in off-campus recruiting.
