The Detroit Lions have plenty of needs and one of their biggest is to add a couple of NFL caliber tight ends to the mix before the start of the 2019 season.

Well, the Cleveland Browns have reportedly released tight end Darren Fells and he very well could be a free agent candidate for the Lions.
Browns release TE Darren Fells after failed effort to trade him per source.

Fells, who is 32, played 16 games (13 starts) for the Lions in 2017. During that season, he caught 17 passes for 177 yards and three touchdowns.
Last season with the Browns, he caught 11 passes for 117 yards and three touchdowns.
We are not suggesting that Fells would come in and be a big weapon for Stafford (because he would not be), but considering the TE market this year, he could be an option.
