Game Notes:
Michael Fulmer pitched seven strong innings giving up one earned run on eight hits. The offense, however, was unable to muster anything.
Detroit was only able to provide one hit against the Houston Astros. Brad Peacock started in place of the injured Dallas Keuchel, who was placed on the 10-day disabled list. Peacock gave the Astros 4 1/3 strong innings striking out eight and giving up one hit.
Mikie Mahtook had the lone hit for the Tigers when he hit a single in the top of the third with one out.
Houston took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first one a RBI double by Jose Altuve that scored George Springer. That would be all the Astros needed as they went on to win the game 1-0.
UP Next:
The Tigers will try to get back in the win column Tuesday night as Jordan Zimmermann (4-2, 6.25 ERA) will take the mound against Lance McCullers Jr. (4-1, 2.65 ERA). The Tigers will be looking to get their offense back on track and get back to the .500 mark.
In his last appearance, Zimmermann went six innings giving up four earned runs on four hits. Hopefully he will be able to have another quality start Tuesday night at 8:10 EST at Minute Maid Park.
