Game Notes:
It seems like we write the same thing every time Jordan Zimmermann starts a ball game: he didn’t last longer than five innings, gave up home runs, and the deficit was too large for the team to claw back from. Zim went five innings, surrendering seven runs, and struggled to limit the hard contact.
But the entire blame cannot be placed on just Jordan Zimmermann. The offense struck out 49 times in four games and left 77 men on base during the four-game tilt. So the blame should be passed all around. The Tigers will head to Kansas City and try to turn their 2-6 road trip into something more respectable.

Looking Ahead:
The Tigers travel to Kansas City to take on the bottom-dwelling Royals for the first time this season. The team will need to figure something things out — starting pitching and offensively — if they plan to creep out of the hole they have dug themselves into. Daniel Norris gets the start in game one.
