Michigan State added their second commit of the walk-on variety on Tuesday, when Southfield Christian guard Brock Washington announced his pledge to the Spartans for the upcoming season 2017-18 season.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Washington out of Detroit ultimately chose to walk on at MSU over scholarship offers from Oakland and various Mid-American programs.

Washington helped guide his Southfield Christian Eagles to the MHSAA Class D state semifinals this past season and is finishing his high school playing career as one of their most productive and prolific scorers in program history. This past season, he was named first-team all-state in Class D, along with his younger brother, Bryce.
Washington is the second player to announcement his commitment walk-on style this off-season. Earlier this month, they added Robert Morris transfer Braden Burke, a graduate of Lakeshore High School in Stevensville, Michigan. Burke (6-foot-11, 220 pounds) will have to sit out next season but will have three years of eligibility remaining after doing so.
