Game Notes:
The Tigers bats came alive tonight! They scored 15 runs on 18 hits and it all began in the first inning. Turning the calendar on a pretty bad month, Miguel Cabrera, doubled home Nicholas Castellanos to open the scoring. It was then that the flood gates opened. The Tigers got three runs in the second, five in the third, and took a 10-1 lead after just three innings.
Michael Fulmer was sharp through three innings, but sitting for 30 minutes while his offense erupted for five runs, seemed to hurt his command. He surrendered five runs through seven innings, snapping his consecutive quality start streak at 10 starts. However, he muscled through seven innings and earned the victory.
Looking Ahead:
Tomorrow Jordan Zimmermann will take the hill and try to build on the momentum from the last two wins. He will square off against Miguel Gonzalez. These two squared off last weekend where the Tigers lost the game 7-3. Zimmermann will have to be better tomorrow to keep the momentum going.
