Detroit Lions Kicking Battle

If we were to ask which player on the Detroit Lions can throw a baseball 94 mph, it’s safe to say that most people would guess quarterback Matthew Stafford. That would be a solid guess, considering that Stafford is known to have one of the strongest, if not THE strongest arm in the NFL.

But that guess would be incorrect.

Well, to be fair, maybe Stafford can throw a baseball 94 mph, but he is not the one who gave us video proof earlier this week.

Any guesses yet? How about a hint: He plays on the defensive side of the football.

Darius Slay? Nope.

Well, if you guessed Lions defensive end, Anthony Zettel, you win the big prize.

Watch as Zettel, who, according to Michael Rothstein of ESPN, had not touched a baseball in eight or nine years steps up and throws a 94 mph fastball.

Zettel accomplished the feat in a Detroit area batting cage while practicing for a charity softball game hosted by Lions DL Haloti Ngata and P Sam Martin.

Ngata was so impressed that he tweeted out the video in slow motion.

Since being drafted by the Lions in the 6th Round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Zettel has made the headlines more for his crazy accomplishments off of the field than on it, including tackling a tree to the ground, dancing to Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and showing off his martial arts skills by roundhouse kicking a water bottle.

Nation, after watching Zettel’s latest video, what impresses you most about this young man?
