Not only is Detroit Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera a guarantee to be in the Hall of Fame when all is said and done but he will go down as one of the best hitters ever to play the game of baseball. Period.

Let’s flashback to 2012 when Cabrera dominated baseball on his way to winning the Triple Crown. In that memorable season, Miggy batted .330 with 44 home runs and 139 RBIs.

During the final game of the regular season in Kansas City against the Royals, after he had clinched the Triple Crown, Cabrera was removed from the game by Tigers skipper, Jim Leyland. Take a look and listen as the fans in attendance give Miggy a standing ovation he will never forget.

Cabrera’s Triple Crown was the first time any player accomplished the feat since Carl Yastrzemski did it with the Boston Red Sox all the way back in 1967 and it has not been done since.

Miggy is the second Tiger to win the Triple Crown as Ty Cobb did it in 1909 when he batted .377 with nine home runs and 107 RBIs.
