Heading into Saturday’s game against the San Diego Padres, the Detroit Tigers (32-41) have lost seven games in a row and are tied with the Chicago White Sox for dead last in the American League.

Prior to the game, Tigers manager Brad Ausmus was asked by the media about his job security. His response was a bit odd, almost the type of response a person would give if he felt safe.

Ausmus vowed that he is not about to waive the white flag, even though the team seems to have done just that over the past couple of weeks.

The question is, when will somebody tell Brad that his time in Detroit is up?

Well, on Friday, Tigers general manager Al Avila stuck up for Ausmus.

From MLive:

“A lot of things that have gone on are, quite frankly, not his doing,” Avila said. “I think some of that (anger) is really misplaced. I think it’s more frustration. I’m frustrated. We’re not happy. It’s just frustration, and I think people are lashing out.”

In four seasons, Ausmus has managed the Tigers to an overall record of 282-275 (.506) while advancing to the postseason only once.

It seems like just a matter of time before Ausmus will out as manager in Detroit, but only time will tell.

  1. Wow! So that explains why you manage with your head up your ass. You’re using it as a heater! Well rest assured Brad, if you like your ass hot, just imagine how happy you will be when your ass is ultimately “torched!” Oh and if that still isn’t hot enough, may I suggest you try sticking some ghost chili’s & flaming hot Cheetos up there until the heat is to your liking! But please, seriously, just do it somewhere else…..
