JUST IN: Pistons bring back PF Anthony Tolliver

The Detroit Pistons have added depth to their roster by bringing back a familiar face, inking Anthony Tolliver to a one-year, $3.3 million contract.

He took to Twitter to express his mood:

Tolliver explained in an interview last month that he was looking for the best overall opportunity for his next NBA team, which turned out to be familiar territory.

“Just the best overall opportunity. I look at it from a couple of different perspectives. Of course there’s the financial part you have to consider, that’s a big part of it,” he said. “Being happy on the court is another (factor). When you play with certain players, you enjoy the game more. When you play with certain teams, you enjoy the game more. That’s worth a lot, as well. I’m going to analyze that, and also whatever city it is that we’re looking at, as well, for my family to be able to settle into. Those are kind of the three things I will be looking at.”

Tolliver suited up in 124 total games for the Pistons between 2014-16 after being acquired from the Phoenix Suns in a trade that saw Tony Mitchell head west. Tolliver played last season with the Sacramento Kings and averaged 7.1 points and 3.6 rebounds, while his 39.1 three-point percentage was the best of his career.

During his first go-around in Detroit, he shot 36 percent from three-point range and averaged 6.3 points per game.

The Springfield, MO native attended Kickapoo High School and Creighton University, and is entering his 10th year in the NBA.
