The Rimington Trophy is award every year in college football to the nation’s top center. The committee for the award allows for three groups to vote on who is the most deserving of the award.
This year, among the 70+ players named to the preseason watch list for the Rimington Trophy are four centers playing in programs across the state of Michigan.

Michigan State senior center Brian Allen has started in 14 straight games for the Spartans and is one of only three linemen on either side of the ball for MSU to start in every game last year. The two-time second-team All-Big Ten honoree and two-time Academic All-Big Ten recipient has played in 38 career games for MSU, starting in 25 of them.
Allen also finds himself on the Rimington Trophy watch list for a season straight season.

Central Michigan’s Austin Doan also enters his senior year with the Chippewas. The former Romeo High School product has played in 24 career games at CMU including nine last season, all of which were in a starting role. Doan is a two-time Academic All-MAC member.
Eastern Michigan redshirt junior Dakota Tallman is expected to take the reigns as the leader up front for what should be a relatively young and/or inexperienced offensive line. Tallman has played in 21 games over his last two seasons, including all 13 of Eastern’s games a year ago, primarily on special teams.
Western Michigan junior John Keenoy joins his ‘Directional Michigan’ counterparts on the Rimington Trophy watch list. The Kentwood, MI native and East Kentwood High School product has been the starting center for the Broncos since his true freshman season, starting in all 26 games played in. Keenoy was also a member of the All-MAC Academic team and All-MAC second-team a year ago.
