On Wednesday night, while most people were using their day off from baseball to watch the ESPY’s (yeah right), heavy metal band Metallica was busy performing at Comerica Park in Detroit, MI.
Metallica, who is now over five months into their international WorldWired Tour, most definitely left a mark on the fans who were in attendance in Detroit but the band also left a mark on the Comerica Park outfield.
Check it out.

According to Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus, the field is in good enough condition for Friday night’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
“It’s not pretty. There’s no question about that,” said Ausmus.
“The sod they normally get comes from Wisconsin or something, and they couldn’t get it here quick enough,” Ausmus said. “They laid (the other sod) down; they rolled it out; they cut it.”
Since they were unable to order new sod on time to put down, the Tigers grounds crew did the best they could with what they had to get the outfield ready for tonight’s game.
Does the field look good? Nope. But who knows, maybe playing on a field that looks more like my front lawn will be good luck for the Tigers as they look to get back into contention in the American League Central.
Looks like Metallica hit harder in one night than the Tigers have managed all season!
