As each day passes, the MLB trade deadline grows closer and closer and the Detroit Tigers are one team who are expected to be in the mix as sellers.

Some Tigers who have been mentioned in trade rumors up to this point include but are not limited to Justin Verlander, J.D. Martinez, Ian Kinsler, Justin Wilson, and Alex Avila. One player who has rarely been included in the rumors is first baseman, Miguel Cabrera.

Sure, some have said they “wish” they could get rid of Miggy’s contract, but unloading the $184 million that he is still owed is highly unlikely. This is especially true considering the down year Cabrera is having at the plate.

Well, one former player thinks there is a team out there who could swoop in and make a move for the future Hall of Famer. That’s right, Alex Rodriguez said on Saturday that he would not be surprised if Boston Red Sox general manager Dave Dombrowski brings Cabrera to Fenway.

So far this season, Cabrera is batting just .260 with 11 home runs in 75 games played.
