In an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio on Wednesday, former New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings stated that he has had “simple conversations” with the Lions, Packers, Ravens, Rams, and Dolphins. It’s not a surprise to see the Detroit Lions are showing interest in Jennings, even with Ameer Abdullah, Theo Riddick, and Zach Zenner set to be the top options for the team.

In 13 games last season, Jennings put up 593 yards on 181 carries, only good for 3.3 yards per carry. No doubt 2016 was one of Jennings worst statistical seasons, but that doesn’t mean he can’t produce anymore. His best statistical season came in 2015 when he totaled 1,159 yards from scrimmage while racking up four total touchdowns with the Giants.

Jennings still believes he can perform at a high level and is ready to provide for any organization that gives him a chance.

Jennings may be on the wrong side of 30, but he can still produce enough to be a quality backup. Lions GM Bob Quinn is always looking to upgrade his team any chance he gets and Jennings will do exactly that. Not to mention, he brings one aspect of the game that the Lions running backs significantly lack, experience.
