The Major League Baseball trade deadline has officially come and gone and Justin Verlander, despite numerous rumors over the past few weeks, is still a member of the Detroit Tigers.
Just prior to the 4 p.m. deadline, Verlander tweeted out the following message to let everyone know he is “still in the Tigers locker room.”

As the deadline approached, JV had been rumored to be a target of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, and Houston Astros, just to name a few. The Tigers were reportedly willing to deal the former American League Cy Young and MVP winner but they were not willing to take on enough of the $56 million which is owed to him over the next two seasons.
