One of the most important Detroit Lions heading into the 2017 season is tight end, Eric Ebron. Many believe this is finally the year he takes his game to a whole new level and emerges as a top tight end in the NFL.
Unfortunately, for Ebron and the Lions, he has been dealing with a hamstring injury, which he suffered on the very first day of training camp. The injury has caused him to miss camp up to this point (other than one practice where he participated in individual drills) which means he has missed important practice time with the offense.
On Wednesday night, The Detroit News tweeted out a story by Justin Rogers titled, “Injury hamstrings Ebron’s ‘fine tuning’ in preseason” which talked about how Ebron is essentially missing his second consecutive training camp and “valuable reps” in the process.

Rogers is 100% on the money with his story but apparently, Ebron does not agree that him sitting out has anything to do with how he will perform when he returns to the field.
So, of course, Ebron took to Twitter and responded to The Detroit News by simply calling the story, “Fake News.”
Check it out.

Ebron, who was drafted 10th overall by the Lions in the 2014 NFL Draft, has been more of a disappointment than anything during his first three seasons in the Motor City. That being said, he has improved in each season and it is still too early to call him a “bust.” Though if he does not step up this season, “bust” will be accurate.
In 13 games in 2016, Ebron had 61 catches for 711 yards but he was only able to find the end zone on one occasion.
