Hail to the Victors!
200 years ago, on August 26, 1817, the University of Michigan was founded by Augustus Woodward, Reverend John Monteith, and the Rev. Gabriel Richard and its first building was built in downtown Detroit.
In celebration of U of M’s bicentennial, the Spirit of Detroit has been decorated with a maize and blue Michigan t-shirt.

The t-shirt will remain on the Spirit of Detroit until August 31, so if you are a Michigan fan, make sure to head downtown and get your picture taken with it.
